The idea for GemGem took hold in 2007 when Yoojin (parent/founder) was pregnant her first child Brendan. It was a beautiful and bright day in California when she thought shopping for a baby and mom should be more easy, exciting and pleasing. And like many parents, she wanted only the best for her baby. She was a full time working mom, and she spent a significant amount of time to shopping online for her baby. There are too many online stores for baby; however existing web sites had limited selections and poor customer service. After months of searching, she realized the type of online store she wanted didn't exist, and she had a vision of creating a high quality and an easy one-stop baby shopping destination for mothers like herself.
